Practising Law Institute (“PLI”) is seeking a Application Developer to join its dedicated, Information Technology team.  This position is located in midtown Manhattan.  




The Application Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining PLI software applications.  Application Developer will be involved in all aspects of the software development cycle, and will be working with architects, technical leads, as well as collaborate with analyst and business stakeholders on projects from concept through completion.




  • Design, develop and implement applications and services using specific programming languages such as C#, ASP, .Net, Javascript, Java, SQL and other development tools/framework to support business requirements.
  • Collaborate with agile team in requirement gathering, defining user stories and providing solutions.
  • Assisting in maintaining and creating test automation scripts.
  • Work with DevOp to ensure the successfully in continuous delivery of the software on the CI/CD process.
  • Other duties, as assigned.




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development.
  • Strong knowledge with software development lifecycle and software development common practices (code reviews, unit testing etc.).
  • Development experiences in C#, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of MVC architecture, SOAP and RESTFUL web applications.
  • Experiences of relational (MSSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB and Apache) databases.
  • Experiences with writing automated tests using Selenium.
  • Experiences in mobile development and big data technology.
  • Good understanding of the Source code control (GIT) and CI/CD processes.
  • Keeps up to date with market trends and other changes in technology.
