Overview

Practising Law Institute (“PLI”), an innovative leader in legal education programs and services, is searching for a data analysis professional to fill the role of Sales Compensation Analyst.  This position requires a Bachelor’s degree as well as a background in financial or compensation analysis.  PLI’s client base includes a large array of prestigious law firms, corporations and government agencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Compensation Plan Analysis & Incentive Calculation

  • Calculate commission payments to sales personnel based on commission plan provisions by using internal systems to gather required data.
  • Reconcile all monthly commission files and ensure membership incentive payments are properly calculated and credited for all eligible staff in membership.

 

Exception Verification

  • Run and analyze incentive compensation reporting from various sources, validate data, research and rectify all exceptions.
  • Responsible for researching and resolving any incentive compensation payment discrepancies and issues.

 

Plan Guidance to Sales when Required

  • When necessary, work with Membership Management and Accounting to clarify the application of incentive compensation program policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and assistance to sales team regarding deal structure and policy guidance as applicable.

 

Analysis and Reporting

  • Perform trend analysis and/or modeling of alternative incentive plan design or quota levels.
  • Prepares standard monthly and quarterly reports to membership management with results of incentive compensation trend analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Salesforce Administration & Operations to streamline analytical processes and create dashboards/templates for accurate analysis and reporting.

 

Systems Evaluation, Implementation and Improvement

 

  • Assist in the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of new cloud-based software solutions as needed.
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal systems to effectively track and capture data.

 

Process Improvement

  • Make recommendations for process improvements and work with the Manager of Salesforce Administration & Operations on implementation.

 

General

  • Assists with special projects as required.
  • Ad Hoc analysis to aid membership management in business operations.
  • Analyze data to identify trends that lead to new business and expansion opportunities.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience with financial analysis, compensation planning or similar strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and presentations skills.
  • Strong familiarity with Salesforce. 
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required including strong understanding of PivotTables and complex formulas.
  • Proven experience working with large amounts of data required.
  • Experience working with a subscription and/or membership business model is preferred.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately manage daily responsibilities and prioritize duties.
  • A driven, self-motivated professional who is willing and able to take on additional responsibility.
