    Practising Law Institute (“PLI”), an innovative leader in legal education programs and services, is searching for an entry-level professional to fill the role of Marketing Database Specialist. This position requires a bachelor’s degree and the ability to learn new technology quickly. PLI’s client base includes a large array of prestigious law firms, corporations and government agencies. 


    The ideal candidate for this position has strong communication and customer service skills paired with a passion for problem solving.




    The Marketing Database Specialist will be responsible for the daily maintenance and growth of the enterprise databases to drive marketing and sales initiatives. The role requires daily communications with internal departments and external clients to accurately grant and remove access to customers.




    Provision Client Access

    • Verify the accuracy of information provided in various formats to grant and remove access to customers using multiple CRMs (in-house and Salesforce, Marketing Cloud)
    • Communicate effectively across departments and with our customers to resolve data discrepancies
    • Upload daily lists of leads to Salesforce and monitor its accuracy

    Data Hygiene / Data Enhancements

    • Proactively identify and correct erroneous data including duplicates and malformed data
    • Perform online research, utilize third-party information, and perform web scraping to enhance data attributes


    • Extract data from internal and third-party databases using conditional statements and Boolean logic
    • Use a data driven approach to create segmentation that match the data to the message of the marketing campaigns
    • Create custom reports to monitor the health of the database and to identify areas of improvements

    Process Improvements

    • Identify opportunities for database growth, health, automation advancements
    • Contribute ideas to validate customer information using algorithms or pattern recognition
    • Become an early adopter of new technologies implemented within the organization

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience is required
    • Experience with enterprise CRM systems and working with large datasets
    • Intermediate skills in Excel (data manipulation formulas, and pivot tables required)
    • Basic SQL data extraction skills and knowledge of VBA highly desirable
    • Attention to detail but can see the bigger picture
    • Effective written and oral communication
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve timely issues with little input
