This position requires a J.D. and four to six years combined work experience in practicing law, management, and CLE program development and implementation. Familiarity with California law and the west coast legal community is critical.  PLI’s client base includes a large array of prestigious law firms, corporations and government agencies.    This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high quality, continuing legal education specific to current California law, and also enjoys involvement in business operations.   SUMMARY   Reporting to the VP, Programs (who is based at PLI’s NYC headquarters), the San Francisco-based Program Attorney will be responsible for designing, creating, budgeting and executing successful continuing legal education (CLE) seminars to educate lawyers and related legal professionals on current CA legal topics, using various delivery methods. In addition, the Program Attorney will work with the CA Center Manager to ensure that the SF office operations meet legal compliance requirements.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Coordinate all phases of program planning and execution for California based programs with emphasis on developing new Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs that will be targeted to the west coast legal community. - Provide leadership and direction to the employees of the SF office. - Develop and maintain relationships with the legal community in California (locally and in other parts of the state) to support the stability and growth of PLI’s west coast presence. - Responsible for working with volunteer speaker “Chairs” to develop program schedules, identify and recruit volunteer faculty, and achieve all program objectives in a timely and efficient matter while professionally handling/minimizing issues or conflict. - Work with volunteer faculty to develop the best marketing copy to describe the program, as well as the materials for the program. Work with the New York based Marketing Department in the development of an overall marketing plan; suggest marketing outlets, target audiences and marketing lists, including ideas for the use of social media. Responsible for meeting all deadlines in submitting marketing and course materials. - Establish, build and maintain relationships with key PLI employees in New York, including the members of the senior management team. - Responsible for developing and adhering to an annual budget for the SF office. - Generate additional revenue based on established goals by growing the number of rental opportunities for the conference center space. - Stay abreast of current developments in the California legal market through the use of current sources of news and information and legal authorities, working with program chairs, faculty, and advisory committees; use program evaluations, surveys, focus groups and other data to ensure complete and timely topical coverage of area(s) assigned. - Ensure that San Francisco office is operating in compliance with local employment and business operation laws. Creates and tags lower thirds, syncs PowerPoint Events for Web Audience while closely working with a team of Multimedia Production Specialist to ensure that all audio visual components are implemented in such a way as to provide a solution that meets the demands and also the goal(s) of the particular event. - Audio Technician: Mixes the show live and communicates with Floor Manager to provide the best sound for the in room audience and online audience. Set up and test Polycom Video Conferencing & Audio Conferencing as needed for remote participants. Loads presentation materials for the Faculty and monitors an inbox for last minute materials and updates. - Video Operator: Syncs the Records with our Webcast Encoders. Logs Metadata Live with our Ingest Environment via Cinedeck Encoders and catDV. Tags fields and creates sub-clips for product automation that creates our On-Demand Video Products through Vantage Media Encoders. - Floor Manager: Sits In and monitors the live event and communicates with the Program Attorney and Faculty Members who are presenting. Load PowerPoint presentations as needed, go over microphone procedures.
